I created a New Event, and I invoked mycalendar.addEvent( eventObject);
Still the calendar does not show up

Please provide the details of the event object. My Guess is you are missing the groupID within the Event. This is a common mistake people do.
ev={eventId:100,
group:{groupID:200, name: "groupName"}
... }
If this does not work, paste the event details here.. I can get the developers to look into
